The Crescent is a community arts centre which is housed in a four-storey B+ listed building located in the heart of South Belfast.
We provide a programme that embraces visual arts, dance, music in many forms, theatre and drama activities, verbal arts, crafts and community arts projects for people of all age ranges and of all abilities.
There are many conservation aspects to our project. One involves the protection of a colony of Swifts who nest at the building each year. Another is the careful restoration of the Scarbo Sandstone on the exterior of the building which dates back to1873.
We are currently raising funds to refurbish and restore our building and to add an extension which will allow full access throughout, enabling many more people to enjoy and participate in a wide range of art forms. The Crescent is currently operating from temporary premises while the main building work gets underway. We aim to be back in our historic home in April 2010.
The Crescent Arts Centre will receive £1 per recyclable cartridge and £3 per recyclable mobile phone that you register and return.
